Life Goes On

Today is a moment leading to tomorrow.
Yesterday is merely a reflection of today.

We are floating through time
Toward the inevitable,
Daily drifting.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of our lives,
Do we remember to stop once in a while?

Stop and appreciate all that we have,
Our loved ones;

grieve for those who will never know
What it is to love, to be loved.

We were born to die,
And die we will;
Be it natural, accident, disease, or violence.

If given the choice,
I want to die very old, naturally;
I want to have grandchildren and joy in my life;

I want to make myself a cheese sandwich,
Sit down in my easy chair and peacefully fall asleep;

I wish for my loved ones to know I loved them
And I am happy, for I lived a good life;

They should remember,
This is a part of life,
To keep on living.

For life goes on, no matter what,
Life goes on, so keep on living.
